At the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, the PwC Chair in Tax law, located in the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on economic and social law (CRIDES) https://uclouvain.be/en/research-institutes/juri/crides), is seeking to recruit 1 full-time PhD fellow in the following area:
(supervision: Prof. Edoardo Traversa)
The researcher will work in an interdisciplinary research environment on tax-related issues, such as European and International Taxation, Environmental taxation, Taxation of the digital and collaborative economy and Tax policy. He/she will participate to the research activities organized by the PwC Chair in Tax Law or by the CRIDES, possibly in collaboration with other research centres located in the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Legal Sciences or other Research Institutes. The topic of the Ph.D. research will be determined in accordance with the supervisor shortly after the starting of the fellowship.
The position is strongly research oriented with limited organizational duties related to the project and teaching obligations. We offer a competitive remuneration package, including a monthly allowance, social security and insurance expenses, and funding of research related activities (participation to conferences and research missions related to the project). The fellowships is granted for a period of 2 years and can be extended twice (1 year), to max. 4 years.
For the PhD fellowship: a university degree (Master) in Law, with interest for in tax law and policy, in particular business taxation, with a European and international focus. PhD applicants are expected to show evidence of strong academic credentials and an ability for research. Good French and English language skills are required. Knowledge of Dutch is appreciated.
